ReTooled Pro Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 8, 2025

Welcome to ReTooled Pro. This Privacy Policy describes how ReTooled Pro (“we” or “us”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you use our U.S.-based multi-vendor marketplace for licensed beauty professionals. By using ReTooled Pro, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Policy. We follow industry-standard data practices to respect your privacy and comply with applicable U.S. laws.

  1. Information We Collect

We collect various types of personal information to provide and improve our services. This includes information you provide directly, data collected automatically (e.g. via cookies), and information from third parties. Types of data we may collect include:

  • Personal and Contact Details: Name, username, email address, phone number, shipping and billing address, and other contact information you provide when registering or using our marketplace. We may also collect professional credentials such as your beauty license or certification details if required for verification (e.g. cosmetology license number or other professional ID). For sellers, we might request government-issued identification (like a driver’s license) or a tax identification number to verify your identity and eligibility to sell on the platform.
  • Payment and Financial Information: Payment card details (credit/debit card number, expiration date) and payment account information (such as your PayPal or bank account for payouts). For example, we collect your credit card information to process purchases and your bank account to deposit funds from sales. If required by law (for tax reporting or fraud prevention), we may collect additional data such as your date of birth, Social Security Number or other taxpayer identification.
  • Account and Profile Content: Information you provide in your profile or listings. This includes your account username, profile photo, professional bio, and any content you post (such as product listings, descriptions, comments, reviews, or messages). Be aware that content you post in public areas (like listings or comments) is visible to others on the platform.
  • Device and Usage Information: Data about how you access and use ReTooled Pro. We automatically receive information about your device and internet connection when you use our site or app. This may include your IP address, device identifiers, device type, browser type, operating system, pages or features you access, timestamps, and referring websites. We also gather usage details such as the listings you view or create, search queries, clicks, and other actions on our platform. We may estimate your general location from your IP address (e.g. city or country) or collect precise geolocation with your consent (for instance, if you enable location services on our mobile app). You can disable precise location access at any time in your device settings.
  • Cookies and Tracking Data: Like many online services, we and our partners use cookies, web beacons, and similar tracking technologies to collect information about your activities. Cookies are small text files stored on your browser. They help us recognize you, remember your preferences, and personalize your experience. For example, we use cookies to keep you logged in, understand usage patterns, and provide relevant content and ads. We also use cookies and similar tools to gather analytics data (via services like Google Analytics) and to support advertising (such as showing you ReTooled Pro promotions on other websites). For more details, see Section 4: Cookies & Tracking below.
  • Third-Party Source Information: We may receive information about you from third parties. For example, if you choose to log in via a social network or link your account with a third-party service, that service may send us your profile information (such as your name or email) with your consent. We might also obtain verification information from identity verification services or professional licensing databases to confirm your credentials. In addition, advertising and analytics providers may provide us with insights about your engagement with our site or ads (e.g. ad partners might tell us how you interacted with an ad). We combine data from these sources with information you provide, in order to maintain accurate records and improve our services.
  1. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for purposes consistent with operating an online marketplace and as permitted by law. Our uses of personal information include:

  • Providing and Improving Our Services: We process your information to create and manage your account, enable purchases and sales, and provide the features of our marketplace. For example, we use your contact information to register your account and communicate about your transactions, and we use your shipping address to ensure items you purchase are delivered to you. We use your financial information to process payments for orders and to send you proceeds from your sales. We also use personal data to maintain and improve our platform’s functionality, troubleshoot issues, and develop new features or services.
  • Facilitating Transactions and User Communications: Your information is used to facilitate transactions between buyers and sellers. This includes sharing necessary details with the party you are transacting with (see “How We Share Information” below). We also use data to enable communications through our platform (for example, messaging between buyers and sellers or sending you notifications about offers, orders, or shipping status).
  • Verification and Security: We may use personal and professional information to verify your identity or professional credentials, especially for sellers, in order to maintain a trusted marketplace. Information like your ID or license number may be used for identity verification, fraud prevention, and to comply with legal obligations (such as tax laws or anti-fraud regulations). We also monitor usage and communications on the platform to detect and prevent fraud, spam, abuse, or other harmful activities, and to protect the safety of our users and the integrity of our marketplace.
  • Communicating with You: We use your contact information (email address, phone number) to send service-related communications. This includes confirmations and receipts for your transactions, notifications about account activity (e.g. item sold, item shipped), customer support responses, and important updates about your account or our policies. We may also send you promotional messages about new features, products, special offers, or events if you have not opted out of such marketing. You can control marketing communications as described in Section 6: Your Choices. Even if you opt out of marketing emails, we will still send you critical account or transaction messages (e.g. order confirmations, password resets) as these are not promotional.
  • Personalization and Analytics: We may analyze your interactions with the site to personalize your experience. For example, we might use your browsing and purchase history to recommend relevant products or tailor the content you see. We combine usage information with data from cookies and third parties (like analytics services) to understand how users engage with ReTooled Pro, which features are popular, and how we can improve. This helps us optimize our services and user experience, as well as to measure the effectiveness of our marketing efforts.
  • Advertising and Marketing: We may use data about you to provide you with targeted advertising and promotional communications. For instance, we (or third-party advertising partners) might show you ads for ReTooled Pro or products listed on our marketplace on other websites or apps you visit, based on your interests or activity on our platform. We also use cookies and advertising identifiers to limit the number of times you see an ad and measure ad campaign performance. If required by law, we will obtain your consent for certain marketing or advertising uses. You have choices about cookies and targeted ads – see Section 5: Cookies & Tracking and Section 6: Your Choices for how to adjust your preferences.
  • Legal Compliance and Enforcement: In certain cases, we must use your information to comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, or government requests. For example, we may use and retain transaction records for tax filings or to comply with accounting requirements. We may also process personal data as necessary to enforce our Terms of Service, to investigate or address legal claims (including intellectual property disputes), or to take action against fraudulent or illegal activity. Using data for these purposes helps ensure our marketplace is used in accordance with the law and our policies.
  1. How We Share Your Information

We understand the importance of your information and share personal data only as needed to operate our business, fulfill transactions, and meet legal or contractual obligations. We do not sell your personal information for money. However, we do share information in certain circumstances with service providers, partners, or other users as described below. We may share your information as follows:

  • With Other Users (Buyers/Sellers): During a purchase or sale, we share relevant information with the other party to facilitate the transaction. For example, if you are a buyer, the seller will receive your order details and shipping address to fulfill your order. If you are a seller, the buyer may see your shop name and general location and, once the purchase is made, will receive information necessary for delivery (such as your return address on the shipping label). We only share what is needed for the transaction; your payment information is not disclosed to the other user.
  • With Service Providers and Partners: We employ trusted third-party companies to perform functions on our behalf. This includes payment processors (to process transactions securely), shipping carriers or logistics providers (to ship your orders), identity verification services (to confirm professional licenses or identities), cloud hosting and IT service providers (to host our website and data), analytics providers (to help us understand how users use our site), and marketing/advertising partners (to assist with promotional campaigns or ads). These service providers are contractually required to access and use your information only as needed to perform their functions for us and to safeguard your data.
  • For Business Operations and Improvements: We may also share data with consultants, auditors, or professional advisors as necessary to operate and improve our business. For instance, we might provide anonymized or aggregated usage statistics to a research firm or share user feedback with partners helping us develop new features (these would not identify you personally). Any sharing of aggregated or de-identified data (data that can no longer be linked to an individual) may be done without further notice to you, as such information is not considered personal.
  • With Your Consent or at Your Direction: We will share your information with third parties if you instruct us to or expressly consent to it. For example, if you use a feature that allows you to share information to a social media platform, we will do so at your direction. Similarly, if we ever offer an option to share your details with a vendor or brand for a special collaboration or marketing offer, we would do so only with your opt-in consent.
  • Legal Requirements and Protection: We may disclose personal information when we believe in good faith that such disclosure is required by law, or when it’s necessary to respond to lawful requests (such as subpoenas, warrants, or court orders). We also reserve the right to share information as needed to assert or protect our legal rights or the rights, property, or safety of others. This includes sharing information in connection with investigations, fraud prevention, risk assessment, enforcement of our terms, or to protect the security and integrity of our marketplace (for example, providing information to law enforcement agencies in cases of suspected fraud or threats to personal safety).
  • Business Transfers: If ReTooled Pro is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing due diligence, restructuring, bankruptcy, receivership, or sale of company assets, your information may be disclosed or transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality arrangements. In such cases, we will ensure the recipient of the data commits to privacy measures equivalent to those in this Policy and as required by law. You will be notified via email or a prominent notice on our site of any change of ownership or uses of your personal information, as well as any choices you may have regarding your personal information as a result of the business transfer.
  • Advertising and Analytics Partners: As noted, we use third-party analytics and advertising partners which may collect certain information via cookies or similar tracking tech on our site. For example, we use Google Analytics to gather usage data, and we partner with advertising networks to deliver interest-based ads. These partners may receive information about your interactions with our services or ads (such as that a particular browser visited a certain page on our site) to enable them to measure performance and tailor ads. We do not share information that directly identifies you (like your name or email) with these third-party advertisers; however, some of the data we share, such as device identifiers or browsing data, might be considered personal information under certain laws. In the next section, we explain how you can opt out of certain data sharing for advertising.
  • No Third-Party Direct Marketing without Consent: We do not share your personal information with unrelated third parties for their own direct marketing purposes unless you expressly agree to such sharing. This means we will not sell or give away your contact information to other companies to market their products to you, except in cases where you have been clearly informed and consented. (For example, if in the future you participate in a co-branded promotion that involves a third party, we would provide you a choice to share your details.)
  1. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

ReTooled Pro uses cookies and similar tracking technologies (such as web beacons, pixels, and device identifiers) to recognize you and customize your experience. Cookies help us remember your preferences, keep you logged in, and measure the effectiveness of our platform and marketing. For instance, cookies allow us to save your login session, so you don’t have to sign in every time, and they help us track aggregate usage stats like overall visitor counts and popular pages. We also use cookies and pixels in our marketing emails (to understand if you open or click an email) and on our website to deliver relevant content and advertisements.

We permit certain third parties to set cookies and other trackers on our site to collect information about your online activities. For example, our analytics providers (like Google Analytics) use cookies to collect data on how visitors use our site, which helps us improve user experience. Advertising partners may use cookies or pixels to gather information about your browsing on ReTooled Pro and other sites, in order to show you targeted ads. This practice is commonly known as interest-based or behavioral advertising, where information from cookies (such as pages you viewed or searches you made) is used to display ads more tailored to your interests. Please note that these third parties may use their own cookies, and their use of your data is subject to their privacy policies.

Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies or alert you when a cookie is being placed on your device. Please be aware that if you disable or delete cookies, some features of our site (like keeping you logged in or remembering preferences) may not function properly.

  • Opting Out of Analytics: To disable Google Analytics cookies and other analytics, you can use browser add-ons or tools provided by the analytics providers. For example, Google offers a Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on you can install.
  • Opting Out of Targeted Ads: If you do not wish to receive interest-based ads, you can opt out of certain cookie-based and mobile-based targeted ads. The online advertising industry provides tools to help: you can visit the [Network Advertising Initiative’s opt-out page]1 or the [Digital Advertising Alliance’s opt-out page]2 to opt out of many advertising cookies. For mobile apps, you can typically limit ad tracking via your device settings (such as selecting “Limit Ad Tracking” on iOS or opting out of ads personalization on Android). Keep in mind that opting out through these mechanisms usually relies on cookies too; if you clear your cookies or use a different device/browser, you may need to opt out again. Also, even if you opt out of personalized ads, you will still see advertisements – they just may be less relevant to your interests.
  • Do Not Track” Signals: Some browsers have a “Do Not Track” (DNT) feature that allows you to signal a preference not to be tracked across websites. Currently, there is no universal standard for how to interpret DNT signals, and we do not respond to browser DNT signals. We continue to monitor industry and legal developments around DNT and will update our practices if a standard emerges.
  1. Your Choices and Rights

You have certain choices and controls regarding your personal information. We are committed to providing you with access and control over your data, in line with industry practices and applicable laws (such as the California Consumer Privacy Act, and similar state laws). These include:

  • Accessing and Updating Account Information: You can review and update most of your account information at any time by logging into ReTooled Pro and visiting your account settings. For example, you may edit your profile details, contact information, and notification preferences directly through the platform. Please keep your information up to date. If you need assistance accessing or updating specific data that is not editable in your account, you may contact us (see Contact Us below).
  • Content Visibility: You may choose what information to include in your public profile. Any information you post in public areas (such as listings, comments, or forum posts) can be viewed by others, so consider this when posting. If you wish to remove content you have publicly posted, you can delete it or contact us for help; however, please note that we cannot guarantee complete removal from the internet (for example, cached pages or re-shares by others outside our control).
  • Opt-Out of Marketing Communications: If you receive promotional emails or texts from us, you can opt out at any time. To stop receiving marketing emails, click the “unsubscribe” link in any promotional email, or adjust your email preferences in your account settings. To opt out of marketing text messages, follow the instructions provided in those messages (such as texting “STOP” in response). Please note that after you opt out, it may take a short period to process your request, during which you might still receive messages already in production. We will not send you marketing communications if you opt out, but we will still send important transactional or account communications as noted earlier.
  • Opt-Out of Targeted Advertising (“Do Not Sell/Share” in some states): As described in Section 4, you can opt out of certain targeted advertising by adjusting your cookie settings or using industry opt-out tools. If you are a California resident, you have the right to direct us not to “sell” or “share” your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes. We honor such requests for all users to the extent required by law – you can contact us to exercise a “Do Not Sell or Share My Info” request, and we will disable third-party advertising cookies on our site for your browser or account. (Note: We do not exchange data for money, but some data sharing for ads may be considered a “sale” under broad state laws.)
  • Privacy Rights Under State Laws: Depending on where you live, you may have specific privacy rights. For example, California residents (and residents of certain other states like Colorado, Virginia, Connecticut, and Utah) have legal rights to request information and take actions regarding their personal data. These rights may include:
    • Right to Know/Access:You can request that we disclose what personal information we have collected about you, including the categories of data, the sources of that data, the business purposes for collection, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it. You may also request a copy of the specific pieces of personal information we maintain about you.
    • Right to Data Portability:Along with access, you can request an electronic copy of your data in a portable format, and/or ask us to transmit it to another service (when technically feasible).
    • Right to Correct:You can request that we correct any inaccurate personal information we hold about you. Where possible, we provide tools in your account to self-correct your data (e.g. editing your profile); otherwise, you can contact us with the correction request.
    • Right to Delete:You have the right to request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions. Upon verifying such a request, we will delete (and direct our service providers to delete) your personal data from our records, unless an exception applies (for example, we may retain data needed to complete transactions you’ve initiated, to detect fraud, to exercise free speech, or to comply with legal obligations).
    • Right to Opt-Out of Sales/Sharing: As mentioned above, you can direct us not to sell or share your personal information for targeted advertising purposes. We treat opt-out signals or requests as applicable under relevant laws.
    • Right to Non-Discrimination:We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these privacy rights. That means, for example, we won’t deny you services, charge you different prices, or provide a lesser quality of service because you exercised your rights under privacy laws.
    • Right to Appeal: In some states, if we decline to take action on a request you make (e.g., we denied your deletion request as allowed by law), you may have the right to appeal our decision. We will provide instructions if this applies, or you can contact us for further review.

To exercise any of these rights or make any privacy-related request, please contact us via the methods in the Contact Us section. We will need to verify your identity (and residency, if applicable) before fulfilling certain requests, as required by law. Verification may involve confirming information we already have on file or asking for additional proof. If you authorize an agent to make a request on your behalf, we will take steps to verify the agent’s authority and your identity.

California “Shine the Light”: California Civil Code §1798.83 permits users of our platform who are California residents to request certain information about our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. We do not share personal data with third parties for their own direct marketing use without your explicit consent, as noted above. If you have questions about these practices, you may contact us for more information.

We only send marketing emails to users who have an established relationship with ReTooled Pro or who have consented to such messages. We include an unsubscribe link in every promotional email in compliance with the CAN-SPAM Act, allowing you to opt out of future marketing emails easily. Our mailing practices include the required identifying information and honor opt-out requests promptly, typically within a few business days.

  1. Data Security

We take the security of your personal information seriously. ReTooled Pro implements reasonable and appropriate physical, technical, and administrative safeguards designed to protect your information from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, or disclosure. For example, we use encryption (HTTPS/TLS) to protect data in transit, maintain firewalls and intrusion detection systems, and limit access to personal data to authorized employees and contractors who need it to perform their job duties. These personnel are bound by confidentiality obligations. We also enforce secure password practices and may offer features like two-factor authentication to help you secure your account.

Despite our efforts, please note that no security measure or method of data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. We cannot warrant the absolute security of information, and you use our service at your own risk. In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you and relevant authorities as required by law. We also encourage you to play a role in protecting your account — use a strong, unique password and keep your login credentials confidential. If you believe your account or data may have been compromised, please contact us immediately.

  1. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy or as required by law. In general, this means we keep your information while your account is active or as needed to provide you services. If you close your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except for information we need to retain for legitimate business or legal reasons. For example, we may retain certain data to collect any fees owed, resolve disputes, enforce our terms, or comply with record-keeping laws. Transaction records may be kept to maintain financial and audit records, and data required for fraud prevention or security may be retained to protect our platform.

When determining retention periods, we consider the volume, nature, and sensitivity of the data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure, the purposes of processing, and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means. Information that is no longer needed is either deleted or de-identified so it can no longer be associated with you. For instance, we may anonymize aggregate usage data for analytics. Please note that residual copies of your information may persist in backup systems for a short period of time, and we may retain certain information as required by law. However, we will not retain personal data longer than necessary and will make sure any retained data remains protected under this Privacy Policy.

  1. Children’s Privacy

ReTooled Pro is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 years old. If you are under 13, you are not permitted to use our site or services, and you should not provide any personal information to us. We also generally require users to be at least 18 (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to buy or sell on ReTooled Pro, given the nature of our marketplace for professionals. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information as soon as possible, unless we are legally obligated to retain it. If you believe that a minor under 13 may have provided us with personal data, please contact us so that we can investigate and remove the information. Parents or guardians who become aware that their child under 13 has used our service or provided personal data to us should alert us at once.

  1. International Users

Our marketplace is intended for users in the United States and is governed by U.S. laws. If you access ReTooled Pro from outside the U.S., please be aware that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States (or other jurisdictions where we or our service providers operate). The data protection laws in these jurisdictions may not be as comprehensive as those in your country. However, we will protect your information as described in this Privacy Policy. By using our services or providing us with information, you consent to the transfer of your personal data to the U.S. and other jurisdictions as necessary for our operations. We will take steps to ensure your data is subject to appropriate safeguards in the recipient location as required by applicable law.

  1. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make changes, we will post the updated Policy on this page and update the “Effective Date” at the top. If the changes are material, we will provide a more prominent notice (such as by email notice or a pop-up on our website) to inform you of the update. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information. Your continued use of ReTooled Pro after any changes to this Privacy Policy signifies your acceptance of the updated terms, to the extent permitted by law. If you do not agree with any updates or modifications, you should discontinue use of our services and may close your account.
